Dr. Myeroff Publishes on Reverse Shoulder Replacement for Severe Proximal Humerus Fractures

This topic is a passion of mine. About 80% of proximal humerus fractures can and should best be treated without surgery. If at all possible, I prefer to fix the very highly displaced fractures with plates and screws to best restore patient anatomy. Occasionally due to age, osteoporosis, patient factors, and severe injuries, I will recommend and perform a Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty which has changed the game for these devastating injuries by offering a predictable return to function where none previously existed. It is such a privilege to be able to return patients back to function, no-matter which of these treatments is best.
